Priyanka Chopra On Akshay Kumar’s National Award Controversy: I Have Three of Those Awards
She has become a globetrotting star but Priyanka Chopra treasures her National Awards. And she reminded everyone of it when she was asked about the controversy surrounding Akshay Kumar’s National Award win
Priyanka Chopra is back in town and giving quotable
quotes as usual. She was at the Baywatch press meet when she was asked about
Akshay Kumar’s first National Award for his turn as a Navy officer in Rustom.
It was branded undeserving by many and the topic continues to be the talk of
the town.
Naturally, Priyanka was quizzed about the controversy surrounding her once favourite co-star, Akshay Kumar.
The actress dodged the question first by saying: "Main toh America mein thi toh mujhe kuch nahi pata."
But that was not it, she then added, "Mujhe three awards mile, yeh pata hai mujhe."
Her Marathi production Ventilator won 3 honours at the
National Awards and Priyanka threw a party earlier to celebrate the win.
Not just that, Priyanka had earlier won a National Award for her turn as a wannabe supermodel in Madhur Bhandarkar’s Fashion.
Meanwhile this is the first time in his two-decade long career that Akshay Kumar has won a National Award.
Responding to the furore surrounding his win, the
superstar had said: "I've been hearing since 25 years, whenever someone
wins there is some discussion around it. Someone or the other person always
creates a controversy. 'He shouldn't have won, the other person should have.'
It's okay. I've won this after 26 years, agar woh bhi aapka mann kare toh le
lo."
